Digital Creativity by Pius XI Students

Even though our school building is closed, Pius XI Performing and Visual Art students are still creating!

Check out these projects created by students while working and learning from home. We thank our intrepid faculty for continuing to guide these young artists through these unprecedented times.

Visual Art

Art students have continued to develop their portfolios. Here’s a sampling of some of the work they have been doing.

Bands

Band students played their individual parts to the Pius XI fight song, and each part was edited together by our Orchestra Director!

Choir

Check out the Spring Solo Projects from Pius XI Vocal Jazz! These students spend the year working with special guest artists to learn the standards from the Great American Songbook.

Our Madrigal Singers also continued making music in the virtual learning environment. Here’s an arrangement of “Somewhere” from WEST SIDE STORY:

Finally, our full virtual choir assembled this rendition of Steven Paulus’ “The Road Home,” in honor of the Class of 2020:

Dance

Seniors in the Dance program are given the opportunity to perform their very own solo piece as part of the Spring showcase. Check out this work from two of our Dance seniors.
