Ko-Thi Dance Company: “Wildfire” @ Wendy Joy Lindsey Theater
Dec 16 @ 1:00 pm
Ko-Thi Dance Company: "Wildfire" @ Wendy Joy Lindsey Theater

TWO performances on Saturday, December 16: 1pm and 7:30pm

Join us for an evening of music and dance in traditional styles from the African Diaspora as Ko-Thi presents WILDFIRE: Replay. This performance is inspired by the spiritual power of our ancestors and aims to revitalize and heal the community by expelling negative forces through positive wind forces that are connected to each dance. The show brings to life the powerful elements of air, water, and fire, catalyzed by the grace and fluidity of movement, and the might of the drums. The wildfire acts as a harbinger of rampant growth and a revitalization of life. WILDFIRE: Replay is a retelling of our original story, breathing new life into traditional stories. At the conclusion of the show, we pay homage to our ancestors by celebrating our Ko-Thi. Come witness the beauty and power of our heritage!

NOT TO BE @ Black Box Theater

By Amanda Rosmann and Kate Sarner
Directed by Kate Sarner

To be or not to be– that is the question… that we’ve answered in this 60-minute, fast-paced, lovingly irreverent mashup of Shakepeare’s greatest deaths. Join the Gravediggers from Hamlet on their raucous journey through (almost) every death in the comeDIES, trageDIES, and histor…ies. Written by local playwrights Amanda Rossman and Kate Sarner, this play is an excellent introduction to the world and language of the great William Shakespeare.

Appropriate for ages 10 and up. Content may not be appropriate for younger audiences due to theatrical portrayals of physical violence and death, as portrayed in Shakespeare’s original works.
