Infusion: The Dance Experience @ Wendy Joy Lindsey Theater

This one day intensive experience from the Pius XI Performing Arts Academy gives Dance students from grades 8-12 the opportunity to interface with some of the best and brightest in the world of Dance from across the country. Enrollment is only $50 and includes lunch and a commemorative T-Shirt. Space Is Limited, Don’t Miss Out!

Featuring Master Teachers:

ChelseyBradleyChelsey Bradley, J.D., M.F.A., is a choreographer, professor, attorney, and author working at the intersection of dance and legal studies. She has held positions as both a lecturer of dance and professor of law for the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire. She currently serves as resident choreographer for Dance Wisconsin.

Chelsey’s choreography can be found in the repertoire of Dance Wisconsin, Greater Lansing Ballet Company, Canton Ballet, Eau Claire Concert Dance Company, Ballet 5:8, and the Central Indiana Dance Ensemble. Her work for these companies has earned her Regional Dance America’s National Choreographic Commissioning award four times, Regional Dance America’s Choreography Connection Grant in 2014, and a Choreographic Honors Award from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, in 2015.

In addition to her contemporary works, Chelsey premiered a full-length ballet, “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland,” for Dance Wisconsin in 2016, and will a full-length “Snow White” for Central Indiana Dance Ensemble in 2017. Chelsey’s writings on choreography and teaching are published by Dance Advantage, and she shares information on the intersection of dance and law through her YouTube Channel, The Academy for Artistic Entrepreneurs.

SabraMichelleSabra Michelle is happy to be a Teaching Artist for this program! She has many performance and choreography-assisting credits for Off-Broadway and regional theatres as well as being an award-winning teacher and choreographer in her own right. She is best known for playing leading ladies in musicals such as Lola in DAMN YANKEES, Cassie in A CHORUS LINE, Roxie in CHICAGO, and many others. She was featured on the National tour of THE PAJAMA GAME, cruising the Hawaiian islands on Norwegian Cruise Line’s PRIDE OF AMERICA, at President Clinton’s Inauguration in George Faison’s KING! A MUSICAL TESTIMONY with Maya Angelou, and on the BEAR IN THE BIG BLUE HOUSE LIVE! video (released by Jim Henson/Columbia Tristar Home Entertainment), with whom she toured the world for 3 seasons.

A native of the Washington, DC area, Sabra received her BFA in Dance from Shenandoah Conservatory. She also trained in London, England; Paris, France; and New York City. Professional dance companies include Dancin’ Unlimited, Motion Mania Dance Theatre, and the Ballroom Dance Company. As a teacher, Sabra’s students have won awards, scholarships, and Olympic medals (Sabra is proud to have taught hundreds of aspiring dancers, as well as elite American gymnasts coached by Kelli Hill). Sabra is a recipient of the “Outstanding Excellence in Teaching” Award from the Governor’s School of Virginia. She has set the foundation for young performers’ skills in musical theatre across the country.

Living in New York City for over a decade, Sabra devoted herself to philanthropic work for Broadway Cares and founded The Cougar Ball, which has produced gala fundraisers for The Actors Fund and the Phyllis Newman Women’s Health Initiative for several years.

LisaMoberlyLisa Moberly is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point with a degree in dance. As a professional dancer, Lisa has performed with Chris Stevens, Kanopy Dance in Madsion, Nikolais/Louis Dance Theatre in New York, Martha Mulligan and Brian Jeffery in Chicago and currently with Betty Salamun’s Dance Circus in Milwaukee. Lisa has assisted in developing A.C.E. programs for schools while with Dance Circus.

Her teaching experience started in college when she helped develop a dance program for Mary Lou Meyers, Turning Point Dance Academy. She has also taught dance at Sherry Morray’s Dance Academy in Downers Grove, IL. Lisa is currently teaching for Danceworks at their main location and at their satellite location at the Jewish Community Center. Lisa is also a certified Pilates instructor. She received her certification from Body in Balance in Chicago, IL. and has taught Pilates for the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee since 2004. In 2012 Lisa opened her own studio, Flying Frog LLC., located in Thiensville where she teaches Pilates and the GYROTONIC (R) method. Lisa also teaches Pre-Ballet and Pilates for the Milwaukee Ballet School.

Just days before his 92nd birthday, Ed will answer questions and share stories as he imparts his final lessons on generations of alumni, faculty and friends.

All proceeds from this event benefit the Ed Drexler Scholarship Fund at Pius XI Catholic High School.

Set against the backdrop of 19th-century France and the aftermath of the French Revolution, this timeless story of intertwined destinies reveals the power of compassion and the quiet evil of indifference to human suffering.

This special Immersion Experience for school groups gives your students a backstage pass! Students will watch the actors perform songs from the show, experience the feeling of being on the Wendy Joy Lindsey Theater stage, learn about how the scenic and lighting designers make theatrical magic, watch fight choreography and see how actors learn how to fight safely onstage, learn a part of a song from the production and sing it with the cast, and learn about the history of revolutions in France that served as a basis for the book and the musical.

All tickets $5.00 – One complimentary ticket for an adult chaperone is available for every 10 paid tickets.
