Download an informational flyer about this event!

The Pius XI Performing Arts Academy, the Heart of Harmony Barbershop Chorus and Sweet Adeline’s Region 3 are teaming up to present “SUPER SING 2016” youth harmony vocal music workshop and performance on Saturday, January 30, 2016.

Picture this: Your singers spending a full day from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM working on choral blend, harmonization and acapella singing while having a blast learning and performing classic barbershop tunes coached by critically acclaimed clinicians and award winning quartet singers.

Check out our award winning performers and clinicians:

Thanks to some generous support and sponsorship, this workshop is FREE and open to all high school and college age singers and directors, but HURRY! Space is limited and demand is HIGH! Lunch is included, along with a commemorative T-Shirt. We will be forming one male and one female workshop chorus. Registering your students in quartets is encouraged, but not required. Use our easy, on-line registration to reserve your spots by January 1, 2016.

Sheet music and individual voice part learning tracks will be available following registration, and most of the music is from the Wisconsin School Music Association Solo and Ensemble Festival Music List.  High School directors may easily have a quartet ready for WSMA contest by the end of this workshop!

And that’s not all. We will conclude the day with a performance at 3:30 PM that is free and open to family, friends and the public, featuring our student workshop choruses and our teaching quartets.

William Shakespeare’s charming 1601 comedy is a topsy-turvy world of cross-dressing lovers, yellow cross-garters, and crossed identities. Shipwrecked on the shores of Illyria, Viola has lost her country and beloved twin brother. Disguising herself as Cesario, a page, she falls in love with Duke Orsino even as she delivers his affections to lovely Lady Olivia. Between beautiful songs, high comedy, and delicate poetry, love redeems all!

ROMEO AND JULIET @ Black Box Theater
Apr 15 @ 7:00 pm

When you are passionately, purely in love, nothing else matters—not even life itself. Shakespeare’s consummate tragedy of young lovers swept into a catastrophic vortex of misunderstandings, secrets and fate is adapted and directed by Milwaukee theatre artist Danny Brylow. Romeo and Juliet, the son and daughter of two wealthy families locked in an old feud, are irresistibly drawn to each other. Defying the hatred and distrust surrounding them, they dare to believe they can, and must, be together.
