Meet the Artists

 

Rose Curley ’08

Rose Curley was born and raised in Milwaukee. She earned a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design and an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She is a 2016 Mary Nohl Fellow in the Emerging Artist category. She returned home to begin work on her memoir, a graphic novel about being adopted transracially and growing up in one of America’s most segregated cities.

 

Andrew Bernier

Andy Bernier has been walking the line between illustration and animation for over a decade. Never satisfied with just creating a final design or illustration, he has been using any technology at his disposal to make his creations move.

After getting his MFA in Broadcast Design and Motion Graphics, Andy has been a freelance animator and artist for some nationally televised events such as the Teen Choice Awards on FOX and the NBC show “Escape Routes.”

Andy worked at Pius XI in the Art Department as a computer lab/technology coordinator and teacher from 2006 to 2013. Andy moved on to to work as an animator at Flip Eleven in Milwaukee. Throughout his time at Pius XI and while at Filp Eleven Andy was teaching classes part time at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design. Andy is currently a full time Assistant Professor at MIAD in the Illustration department.
